We're only a cobblestone's throw away from the bustle of Scotland's capital, where Scottish culture and history blend seamlessly with the architectural marvels of this diverse and vibrant city.

Whether you're here for The Edinburgh Fringe Festival or the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, or you're planning on eating and drinking your way across town, THE QUEENS is the peaceful alternative to the busy city, while still allowing you to dip in and out of Edinburgh as you please.

The quaint majesty of Queensferry. Where the legacy of smugglers and royals collide. Spectacular views sweep across the Firth of Forth, spanned by three titanic bridges that guard the wild splendour of Scotland. And THE QUEENS is right in the middle of it all.

Wander along our cobblestone High Street, browsing the local arts and gift shops. Or hike the many trails among the trees, along the shore line, and across the bridge to North Queensferry.

Take A Walk...

Our top picks for exploring Edinburgh, South Queensferry - and beyond - by foot.

History & Culture

It could be the warmth and passion of our people, our unique customs and traditions. Or perhaps it's our myths and legends, and crumbling castles. Whatever your reason for visiting, if you have the will to explore, Scotland has something for you.

We have castles of all shapes and sizes, right on our doorstep. Cast your net wider, and you'll find we have more castles than you could ever possibly hope to visit.

You couldn't possibly see them all - could you?

Sometimes the tranquility of a museum or gallery is the preferred scene to soak in the history and culture of our great Scottish nation.

We've got your breakfast covered, but we wouldn't dare deny you the chance to explore the excessive food and drink delights in South Queensferry and Edinburgh. Just ask us for our top picks (we've tried a lot!)

Edinburgh Fringe is the world's largest arts festival. And THE QUEENS is perfectly located a safe (but easily accessible distance) from the bustle of Edinburgh. Every August, the streets and venues of Edinburgh are littered with the quirky, the controversial, the passionate and the hilarious (and sometimes not-so hilarious), each staging their own mini arts revolution.

Royal Military Tattoo

August is a busy month for Edinburgh! The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has become a global phenomena, merging our love of music with the pomp of ceremony. And for those who don't particularly want to stay amongst the combined might of Fringe and Tattoo-goers, join us in South Queensferry. THE QUEENS is the perfect, peaceful alternative.

It will be cold. It might even be snowing. But it will be worth it. Scotland loves a spectacle, and Hogmanay (our version of New Year) is something for the bucket list. We have concerts, street fairs, and a Ceilidh (folk dancing) under Edinburgh Castle. And don't forget Loony Dook (swimming in the freezing cold Firth of Forth) in our very own South Queensferry.
